A "Lasa" Wedding

Last month a friend of ours got married in a village about 2 hours away. It was our first time to see a "Lasa" wedding. It was quite the ordeal! The only sad thing was that it was an arranged marriage by her parents so she wasn't very excited about it :(

The bride here traditionally changes outfits like 6 times (or so it seemed). Here she is in a more traditionally looking wedding dress. Each time she changes clothes, her and her husband come out on the stage and sit there while everyone takes pictures.

These are a few of the cute little girls that were there taking part in the wedding festivities. There are no flower girls or ring bearers. Just one bridesmaid and one guy attending the groom.

This was the night before. She could not come out of her house until the wedding day. The evening before she is getting ready. Friends come over and help her with her henna on the hands/feet and give her a facial.

We couldn't quite figure this thing out, but we think it was a gift for the person who officiated the wedding. It had money on it, along with some baked goods and candy. It was very ornately made and the guys kept moving it from the stage to inside the house when the prayers were said.

Below is a video of the actual officiating of the wedding. They read verses from their holy book.

After the formalities are over, the party begins! Below is a video of a DJ that was hired to host the evening music. He is also a talented dancer :)

This ethnic group is known for this specific dance. Here is the bride performing the dance, while she dances people will come and put money in between her fingers. Her dad decided to put it in her hair.

It's so cool you were invited to go to the wedding!
