This is the family that we spent the first part of the big day with. Hari Raya is the local term used for the day of celebrations and eating after Ramadan is over. We had met the lady in the orange dress just the week before, but she was very friendly and invited us to visit with her family. We are grateful for this new friendship!

This is us in our traditional wear for the festivities. Justin's baju "outfit" was actually from last year and Daniela's was given by a friend. Made it easy this year, no need to buy new ones!

We went to visit this family in the afternoon of the big day. They were so hospitable and invited us over to eat. Here is us eating on the floor, which is quite common over here. This particular family actually lives in a wooden home by a river.

Here's a group shot of the ladies . . . mostly besides the little guy who decided to sneak into the shot :) The girl in the back holding the cord is the one that invited us over. The girl in the green dress is her older sister, the other lady is her mom and then the young kids are siblings.

Lastly we stopped by a family that lives in our neighborhood. It is common here for people to hold open houses this month. This family is actually away from their hometown and so wanted to have people stop by and visit on this holiday. We enjoyed getting to visit with them as well, it was definitely good language practice because they talk very fast!
