Vision trip

We went to visit a water village, which is really interesting because all of the homes are built with stilts over the water. Boats are the main form of transportation back to the mainland. This little guy came out to see us as we were riding around the area. Most of these people don't have a lot of money and many rely on fishing or work on the mainland for income.

These are the elementary school kids dressed in the local uniform. These kids have a special school. It too is built over the water and is fairly new. It was neat walking around the different boardwalks. Underneath is a shot of the "water school" from afar.

Most of the people that we visited with were very friendly, sometimes it just took the kids some time to open up :)

This is a great-grandma with her great-grandkids. She was fun to talk to, even though a little difficult to understand!

Several houses in this particular village burned down a few years ago. Thankfully there were some kind "friends" who helped rebuild the homes. They also added a special addition, a house that will work as not only a school, but also a place for them to stay when visiting these people.

These same kids, moments later ran into the river that runs behind their village. The river serves several purposes: bathing, swimming, and washing clothes/dishes!
